Parallel Periods
To compare results of a current period against the results of a similar period in the past, complete these steps:
- In the pivot table overlay, right click the measure for which you want view parallel period data.
- Select Time Function, and then Parallel Period.

Specifying details for parallel period comparison. - Type the name of the new parallel period measure.
- Select a period to lag and enter the number of periods to lag.
- Click OK.
The new measure now appears in the overlay, and the corresponding calculation is added to the pivot table editor.
