The Last N Periods feature gives you the ability to generate a named set that contains the last N periods from a specific date member.

To set up Last N Periods, complete these steps:

1. Right-click a hierarchy in a date dimension and select View Members.
   
   The View Members item in the Vivid Pivot Table Editor context menu.

   The View Members dialog box opens for a date hierarchy.

2. In the data hierarchy, select the member that you want to generate the last N members from.

3. Specify a name for the named set and how many periods to go back. Note that the Last N Periods generated name set will include the member that you selected from the View Members dialog.

You can use the resulting named set just as you would use any other named set. See below for an example of using the named set in the previous steps.
